Invited to Common discussion participation: 3 main ideas/proposals for forest studies
Résumé
1 – We must think of ecosystems as something dynamic and not as static. It means that in addition to a management of semi-natural environments, it is necessary to study more also the primary ones and it is also necessary to study where the primary environments can be reconstituted by dates. We should to think about old reforestation as formation with also a cultural, historical landscape, and ecological interest, managing them not only to be harvest, but also to maintain their important characteristics. 2- Using the forest is very important, for this reason there is a need for the woods to be used with the least possible impact. In this regard, it is also necessary to think of managements for which the forest is left to develop with a free evolution. Therefore it is important to think of an ecological mosaic of the landscape in which for each type of habitat there are always areas left to free evolution and not only actively managed or economically exploited. 3- Limiting and controlling exotic species is something very important, but we need to increase the study of the dynamics in which species are involved. Perhaps with an eye not only on limiting their proliferation, but also on possible uses and applications, including forestry.
